Horseshoe Bend deserves its own post, it is so spectacular!
Horseshoe Bend is a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado river located 5 miles downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam.
To get an idea of the scale, look at the wake made by a boat in the upper left side of the photo! From where I took the photo to the water, it is a 1000 foot drop. Yikes!

One gets to this magnificent view via a 1.5 mile hike from the parking lot. Dave chose to snooze while I hiked along with the dozens of other people! The dots in the photo below are the people. The dark area in the middle of the photo is the look off point to the Bend.
