Garner State Park, Concan TX
February 1-4, 2016
From Billy Bob's and San Antonio, we headed West about 120 miles to a beautiful state park on the Frio river. Reputed to be one of Texas' busiest parks during the warmer months, it was a great relief to have a whole camping loop to ourselves for two out of our three nights there, with a campsite overlooking the river. We enjoyed several walks of varying degrees of difficulty...some of us hiked the uphill trails on our own..and we both relished the peace and serenity of this lovely environment.
We saw some wildlife displays and even a lone flowering cactus...
Feelings of satisfaction after conquering a couple of hilly hikes...
And rewarded by spectacular views while trying to master the art of the selfie on my Canon SX 40, hence the extended arm...
While Dave ponders the beauty of the sea level river !
