Brantley Lake State Park, NM

February 14-17, 2016

We made a brief foray into New Mexico in order to visit the Carlsbad Caverns National Park (see next post).  Prior to our visit to the caverns, we enjoyed a few days of R and R at this desert park, which fronts onto a "lake", really a reservoir created by damming the Pecos river.

 However, not all is well or idyllic.  See below:

 On a lighter note, we had our daily showers with the rest of the inmates...Brantley is the only state park to have detention centre standard-issue bathroom fixtures.  Clean, but definitely institutional...Dave is still waiting for his orange jumpsuit...
