We spent many hours touring this world War II battleship which was commissioned in1937, completed in 1941 and decommissioned in1947.
We were impressed by the well preserved ship. From the engine rooms to seamen's accommodations, we were given a taste of life aboard such a ship for the more than 2200 Navy men and Marines (no women) who served aboard.
